So, this new deputy was having the new deputy butterflies. He always worried, ever sense named a apprentice that he wouldn't be good enough to the clan, that had would slip up. Now, he was deputy of the clan! Argh! He paced back and fourth outside the leaders den, as he whimpered. He was stressing alot lately, he was late to the first gathering. That just shows hes bad. He whimpered and poked his head into the den "Sunstar, you fear to chat?" he asked.

Sunstar was just finishing a fresh mouse, she licked her lips and purred. It was her favorite deputy at the cave entrance. "Come right in, Splashspirit!" She started licking her paws to make sure she didn't waste any fresh meat. She dipped her head at her deputy. "What is it you need?" She was curious but always happy to see her second in command. "Come in, sit down." She sat up and curled her tail neatly over her paws.

Sliding into the den, the gray tabby looked at the calico leader and smiled as he made his way over to her, and then sat down looking at her with worried blue eyes. "Sunstar, you have known me sense I was a apprentice, heck you were my mentor ... I want to know, have I slipped up at all? I always feel like I'm a disappointment on my clan, like I don't deserve to be deputy. I know its silly, but you know me, always worrying" he mewed.

She looked into Splashspirits eyes, they seemed to be filled with worry. She knew what it was about even before he said anything. She flicked her tail in understanding, she was deputy once and she felt the same, like someone else could do better and that she was always messing up. "Oh Splashspirit, oh Splashspirit." she said, "do not worry, you are doing perfect. I picked you because I watched you grow up, sure you were late to the gathering but so was everyone else, at least you weren't last right?" she added something jokingly "Besides I don't want you showing me up" She flicked his shoulder playfully. "Don't worry about it."

He listened to the leader, and nodded his head slowly to her works "Very true, you did watch me .. and ya, I was just behind you and grouchy Lizardstar." he mewed as he crouched down and chuckled "Very true, it would suck being the last one in the gathering" he said with a brighter tone. Then he nodded his head "You did watch me grow up .. That's the thing Sunstar, you watched me, and I know I messed up. I mean heck, I brought a kitty-pet in the clan without knowing it ... aka my sister, she lied and said she was always here. Stupid Jazzy" he said and then laughed "No one can pass up the might Sunstar" he purred with a smile.

She yawned and licked her lips, it was getting to that time of day where the sun was beating down on the game and it made it warm and slightly exhausting if you had a busy day, but it did help you sleep better at the end of the day. "Heck, Ripplestar didn't even show up! That'll be tough to explain at the next one!" She got up and stretched her legs one by one and then shook her pelt to get the dust off of it. "Don't worry about Jazzy." Sunstar changed the subject by strutting around her cave "Oh yes, mighty me!" She was very laid back and loved to joke around, but could be fierce and serious if she needed to be.

Splashspirit broke out in laughter, remembering that the leader true did not show. None of that clan did, it was rather dumbfounding. He was saying it was first gathering butterflies, that held them back. But no one knew the real reason, other then the clan itself. Then he purred and laughed "Very true, very true" he said then smiled "Oh Sunstar, you are still as fun as you were a warrior" he purred.

Sunstar licked her lips. "Where would this clan be if I wasn't fun?!" She mewed. then added "They would probably be a bunch of lazy, grouchy, mouse brained, boring old fools! And we can't have that for Thunderclan!" She exclaimed, oh the horror, she hoped Thunderclan never turned to that. She headed to the entrance of her den and looked up into the sky. It was just starting to get dark and the birds had stopped chirping and squirrels were headed home. She looked back at Splashspirit. "I really hope Thunderclan is never a clan of grouches. Honestly."

Sitting there, the deputy looked at her and then mewed "Unless you turn into Lizardstar, it never will be on our paws. If you do ... will then, ill just kick you into the elders den and become Splashstar." he joked at then padded over to her, sitting next to her at the entrance of the den, as he looked at the stars beginning to rise "Ah, it looks like I must retire to the warriors den soon" he said blinking his blue orbs.

"Who are you kidding, you could never kick me to the elders den." She mewed, jokingly. "Yes, go get some sleep." She flicked her deputy on the shoulder with her tail and said "I better be getting to sleep also, I have to get up before light to take over the guard for the camp" She yawned and started rearranging the moss on her bed. She curled up and put her tail over her nose. "Goodnight Splashspirit, may starclan light your dreams."
