Honeyblaze had crashed in her nest rather early, really. The sun hadn't even fully gone down. However, the warrior was simply exhausted, and felt that if she took one more kit-sized step, she'd probably collapse. Honeyblaze had been working her tail off hunting and patrolling the last seven sunrises, and honestly, going to bed early was really the least the ShadowClan warrior could do for herself.
However, when Honeyblaze next opened her deep amber eyes, she found that it was pure black out. The tortoiseshell she-cat mumbled in annoyance, "Here I was thinking that I'd get up at dawn, maybe even later." With a sigh, Honeyblaze decided she'd try to go back to sleep.
That didn't work out so well.
After about an hour of failed attempts to fall back asleep, Honeyblaze grunted and gave up. She stood and slipped easily out of the warriors' den, looking up at the moon. She couldn't really tell what phase it was at, though, because it was a misty night, and it was hard enough to see the moon as was.
After a quick wash of her pelt, Honeyblaze continued. The she-cat decided that she'd head out of camp and get some late-night hunting in. However, something stopped her. She sensed another cat nearby. Was she being watched, by any chance? Honeyblaze's ears swiveled around, and her gaze darted about the camp, but she couldn't find the source of the odd feeling. Maybe she was just being paranoid? After all, she probably was still a bit tired, despite being unable to sleep. "Who's there?" Honeyblaze meowed slowly, sitting down once again.

Lizardstar had volunteered to guard the camp for the night. He wanted his warriors to understand that he was going to work just as hard as them, even if it meant staying up the entire night. He felt somewhat bad for his Clan at the moment. It was small, and still weak from Leaf Bare. But he knew they would pull through, just like always.
Everything was still and silent for a while. Suddenly movement caught his eye, and he watched as Honeyblaze emerged from the Warriors' Den. He watched as she cleaned her pelt, and then began to focus again.
Then the tortoiseshell she-cat began to walk in his direction, and then froze. After she spoke, Lizardstar slid out from his shadowy hiding spot, and tilted his head as he padded over. "You're leaving the camp late." He meowed, his deep voice filled with confusion, but also sympathy. He knew his clan-mates were beginning to grow tired from all of their extra work, and he, too, was starting to get exhausted.

Honeyblaze's gaze headed to Lizardstar when she heard his voice. The leader! Of course! She suddenly remembered that he had volunteered to be the guard of the camp for the night. At least it wasn't an intruder, which was really what Honeyblaze had truly feared. In times like these, a tragic event would be highly frowned upon.
The ShadowClan warrior dipped her head respectively to Lizardstar, then mewed, "Be surprised if you want, but I couldn't sleep anymore. I fell asleep before sunset, yet I woke up some time ago and couldn't fall back asleep." The tortoiseshell paused for a few moments, then decided she'd tell him was she was planning on doing, "I was going to hunting, I decided. It couldn't hurt, right? If I can't sleep, then I should do something for my Clan." Honeyblaze's amber eyes were filled with determination. If she shared anything with her long-since-dead mother other than pelt, it was her fierceness and determination. "Would... Would you care to join me, Lizardstar?" Honeyblaze asked, tipping her head to the side, "Or... Aren't you on guard duty? I suppose I shouldn't take you away from that." Company would definitely be nice, but Honeyblaze would understand if Lizardstar felt the camp needed guarding, no matter what. He was the leader, after all.

Lizardstar shrugged, and stood from his dark little corner. "I doubt anyone will actually attack us, not now." He meowed, beginning to pad out of camp. "You lead the way." He called back, wondering where Honeyblaze would take him.

Honeyblaze was slightly surprised, and she was sure that her flinching showed that. "O-okay! If you say so." The tortoiseshell said, still slightly shocked that the leader had actually agreed to go. Honeyblaze caught up to him and charged ahead, keeping her ears perked and her eyes dilated in order to take in many sights. "I think this is a good spot." The ShadowClanner mewed quietly, not wanting to alert any prey. She slowed to a stop by a small bog and scented out the area, narrowing her eyes.
(Is this set in the forest or lake territory?)
